Asif is the Practice Manager and deals with all day-to-day issues that arise in relation to the smooth running of the firm. This includes dealing with the professional Indemnity Insurance, Office Insurance, building Insurance, car insurance, building management etc. Asif is also the Data Compliance Officer and carries out all the duties this entails and looks after the IT infrastructure, developing this side of the business including implementing the Case Management software.
In addition to the above, Asif also manages applications for prior authority to the Legal Aid Agency and ensures the experts who have carried out work for Abbeys get paid.
Asif went to Bredbury Comprehensive School where he studied for his GCSE ‘O’ levels and then went to Stockport College in 1977 to study ‘A’ levels. Asif managed to gain admittance to Liverpool University where he studied Computer Science and Industrial Management. He completed his MBA at Manchester Business School before taking over his family garment manufacturing business. Asif was able to develop this business from supplying small local shops and wholesalers into working with some of the best-known high-street retailers.
In 1996 Asif decided to leave all this behind and with his family emigrated to Pakistan in order to give his children what he believed would be the best education affordable to him. Asif spent 11 happy and successful years there before moving back to England in 2007 when his children were ready for university education. All three of his children went on to complete post graduate degrees.
Asif joined Marks & Spencer as a consultant to help with establishing offshore production facility in Siri Lanka & India. In 2012 Asif joined Abbey Solicitors as the Practice Manager.
