Operation Lithium 2017 – 2019

Abbey Solicitors were instructed in this case, with the trial not due until late 2019 we represented one of 13 defendants for £25,000,000+ VAT fraud and money-laundering offenses, involving specialists in scrap metal trading.  The case moved from Manchester to Sheffield Crown Court, with initial talk of a move to Southwark Crown Court. Following submissions regarding disclosure, the Crown offered no evidence due to ex parte disclosure duty issues.

A verdict of not guilty was entered and the defendant represented by Abbey Solicitors was acquitted.
