Rebecca graduated with a degree in Spanish and Japanese after spending a year living and working in Japan. She went on to do the Common Professional Examination (a law degree in one year) followed by the Legal Practice Course. Rebecca began her legal career at Berrymans Lace Mawer Solicitors and was one of the first employees to work at The Connexion Partnership set up to deal with the Claimant side of Berrymans which had up until then been predominantly Defendant orientated. Rebecca qualified as a Solicitor in 2008 after completing her training contract at Abbeys and has worked here for almost 20 years.
Rebecca spent several years as Head of the Personal Injury Department before moving to the Civil and Commercial Litigation Department where she undertakes a varied caseload. Rebecca specialises in dealing with all kinds of disputes including contract disputes, debt recovery, Landlord/tenant disputes, trust issues, disputed insurance claims, neighbour disputes, disputes with consumer/suppliers and contested Will/Probate disputes. Rebecca represents clients in trademark disputes as well as being able to register and protect individual and companies’ intellectual property rights by the registration of Trademarks. Rebecca also deals with both professional and medical negligence claims and representing interested persons at inquests. In addition, Rebecca acts on behalf of individuals who have had monies seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act and contests applications for forfeiture of monies seized.
Rebecca also advises individuals who are in receipt of compromise agreements following redundancy and has made several successful applications for Judicial Review.
Rebecca is meticulous in all her work and works tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcome for every client.
In her spare time Rebecca can usually be found at the side of a football pitch supporting her son who plays in both Saturday and Sunday leagues. Rebecca loves going to the theatre and enjoys finding different places to walk her beloved Labrador Retriever.
